I am a great fan of reading to your child and cannot emphasise enough how important it is. It gives children so many fabulous skills in the area of communication, such as listening, attention, vocabulary, word classes (e.g. animals, food, vehicles) understanding of language, phonetics, rhyme - just to mention a few. So many opportunities for your young child all wrapped up in one book!
I have listed some of my favourite titles below. These are just a selection and it is by no means a complete list. You will have your own favourites. I love the fact that some of these books were around when I was a child and they are still being loved by the next generation.
